Mélange

Creating contrasts and unlikely, yet harmonious combinations have been inherent in Silvia Tcherassi’s designs since the brand’s establishment nearly 30 years ago. Present in this season’s prints, shapes and materials, the idea of an artistic collage that blends various elements, such as textures and unexpected colors, was a strong theme throughout Fall-Winter 2021. An underlying notion that unlikely partnerships or combinations often result in extraordinary things, heavily influenced this offer which should be interpreted as a nuanced mélange.

Modern-day luxury has been redefined, resulting in an entirely new concept permeated with casual and effortless elements. In Mélange, the firm’s signature classic cotton blouses are unexpectedly embellished with bold, sequined polka dots. Moreover, pop art-inspired floral appliqués, fringes and embroideries embellish the selection. The house continues to experiment with silk-paneled knits, this time as crew neck and turtleneck sweaters. Timeless stripes and geometric patterns blend seamlessly with polished pieces that feature prints inspired by Milanese men’s silk ties from the eighties. Autumnal classics, herringbone and velvet give the assortment a seasonal feel, while loose-fitting silhouettes accentuated with masculine belts or feminine tasseled ribbons further insinuate a play on the collection’s duality.

A collection that feels deeply true to the designer’s aesthetic, but also experimental and current to the times, Fall-Winter is a seamless fusion of concepts, fabrics and hues that results in a novel take on the house’s design while still remaining true to its foundations.
